What To do in Pennsylvania-Gettysburg Pa.
65The Gettysburg Battlefield
The Battlefield tours at Gettysburg are a fabulous way to to enjoy a fun and educational family trip. and You can easily fill a weeks vacation just getting to see all there is to see here. but there are so many other wonderful things to see in do in this region. Most people are not aware of a multitude of little known attractions in and around Gettysburg, so I would like to share a few of my favorite places in this area.
Most of the attractions I am about to share can provide great side trips to your Gettysburg travel plans. Some are seasonal and not available year round. It will be important to check for operation schedules before fializing your plans.
The Land of Little Horses
The Land of little horses Farm Park offers a variety of fun and educational opportunities for everyone. Guests are entertained with close encouters at the petting zoo. Arena shows and much more. The park also offers overnite accomodations, for anyone interested in staying in the peaceful farm country. Kids and adults alike will be charmed by the intellegent animals and friendly staff. This side trip is an experiance that no one will want to miss.
Ski Liberty Mountain Resort
Ski Liberty is about eight miles south of Gettysburg. They offer everything in winter sports from skiing, to snowboarding, to snow tubing. On site instructors are available to help the newest of beginners to the most veteran skiers. Snow boarding instruction is also avail.
The Liberty Hotel adjacent to the mountain offers package rates as well as overniters.
Not to be outdone by Ski Liberty, Thier sister resort Ski Roundtop in York County Pa.also has a great Mountain, and offers all the ammenities that Ski Liberty does except they do not at this time have lodging facility.
Day or nigt Ski Liberty always has something going on. For a coplete list of schedules and events please have a look at thier website; http://www.skiliberty.com/lmr/mountain/mountain.aspx
Haunted Mill Scream Park
I would be remiss if I also did not include the greatest haunted attraction in Pennsylvania. The scream park has a very short season as it is geared specifically to Halloween entertainment. This park is definitely not for the faint of heart.
The park is only open from the last week of Sept. to the first of Nov. If you find you will be in our area at this time and are looking for thrills and chills it is well worth the 20 min drive from downtown Gettysburg
These are but a few Of the interesting thing in and around Gettysburg. I hope you enjoy your trip

Thank you for an excellent hub about a great place. We haven't been there in several years, but maybe this summer we'll get there again.
